IWBs for short-barreled handguns
< Shown in the photo, the H&K P7 is a good example of a handgun model that benifits from the added material at the bottom of the holster.
In most cases, consumers purchase a handgun with a short barrel to facilitate concealment. So why is it necessary to add additional length to the bottom of the holster?
I have found, through my own experience, that when the bottom of the holster is flush with muzzle of a short-barreled handgun, there is a tendency for the bottom of the holster to dig uncomfortably into the wearer's hip or buttocks. To remedy this problem, we add additional leather to the bottom of holsters made for short-barreled handguns, then contour it around the end of the muzzle (to minimize the amount of print). Our rule-of-thumb is that the length of the front holster should be at least five inches from the top of the reinforcement to the bottom of the holster. The additional leather also adds stability to the holster.
If you do not feel that the additonal length is necessary for your application, upon your request, we will not add the additional length.
